FAQs

Finances

How much does therapy cost? Do you take insurance?

Because each of our clinicians operates independently, each has their own separate fee structure, and decide which insurances to be paneled with.

Each therapist’s full rate usually ranges somewhere between $140-$200 per 50 minute session. However, each clinician offers sliding scales, and can vary.

Pro bono sessions are also occasionally offered on a case-by-case scenario. Your clinician would love to chat with you about what your options are!

Making an Appointment

Do you offer in person or tele-therapy services?

We love seeing clients in-person, as well as anyone who resides within the state of California.

How do I book a session?

  1. Reach out to the clinician directly (all bios have their direct emails!)
  2. If they have availability, they’ll schedule a consult call (either phone or video)
  3. What [generally] happens in consult calls/videos:
    • What you’d like to address in therapy
    • How often you’d like to have a session
    • If you’d like to pay out-of-pocket or use insurance
    • If the clinician believes you and they would be a good fit, you’ll then schedule an appointment.

I’ve booked a session! Now what?

Fill out all the paperwork/consent forms sent to you by your therapist. You’ll receive a text or email reminder about accessing your session- either parking/door code instructions or a link to virtually join the session. (Ask your therapist!) We’re looking forward to meeting you.

Can I make an appointment for someone else?

If you’re looking to arrange something for your child or minor under your care, yes. Just let us know what your family needs and we’ll help find the appropriate therapist for your family.

If you’re wanting to set an appointment for a friend or relative over 18, unfortunately, no. They are the ones to consent and decide if therapy is right for them.

Where are you located?

What happens in sessions?

What kinds of issues do you help people with?

Each clinician has a wide range of expertise in treating a variety of mental health issues, as well as niche issues they’re passionate about. Check out each bio to learn more! But generally, we work with folks dealing with: anxiety, depression, issues around sexuality, difficult relationships, grief, family dynamics, lgbtq+ issues, and all kinds of traumas.

Do you prescribe medication?

A psychiatrist (MD) or primary care provider (PCP) prescribes medication for mental health issues. A therapist can help their clients figure out if they should seek out medication and make referrals to primary care physicians, as well as local psychiatrists.

Are you religiously affiliated?

No. We are not a ministry, nor do we offer christian counseling. We therapeutically walk alongside our clients in whatever season they are in. If clients want to utilize religious or spiritual resources in sessions, all clinicians are trained in integration of such practices.

While religion has historically been viewed as a psychological strength, we acknowledge that it does not always serve that purpose. Healthy spirituality can be an important component for our overall wellbeing and “health” may look very different for everyone.

What informs your clinical ethic?

We operate under the law of California and are licensed to provide psychotherapy with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. We are members in good standing with the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, National Association of Social Workers, and California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, who clinically follow the direction of each associations’ ethical guidelines.

Are you a group practice?

Yes and no. While we are a “group” of practitioners, each clinician in our office operates under their own license and with full autonomy. While some practice policies may be shared, each therapist will communicate their own policies through intake paperwork and initial sessions. The Reclaim Family Therapy Corporation (DBA The Reclaim: A Therapy Collective) is directed by our executive team: Naomi Wiens, CEO, Karen Huckaby, CFO, and Breanna Turner, COO.
